Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1895-O PCGS AU-58
Lot Number: 424
Description: Bert Davies Collection. Appropriately deemed by many to be the most difficult of New Orleans dollars within a regular issue set, nobody could sensibly dispute the reputation of 1895-O as a grade rarity. This is a frosty, freely lustrous example that suffers only the slightest loss of flowline effect to the hands of circulation, and greyish friction merely glazes over the cheek. Strike quality is typically soft and a bit poorly defined over the ear, and flatness at the eagle's breast can be attributed to both a modest strike and light wear. Scarce in this grade, most definitely more affordable than a costly mint-state example, and certainly worthy of close inspection.
