Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1893-S PCGS AU details/altered surfaces
Lot Number: 413
Description: Ready To Retire Collection. The undisputed king of the series, 1893-S reigns as the low-mintage regular issue champion of the entire Morgan dollar series, and any well-detailed example, regardless of caveats, will be strongly pursued by collectors. The impairment noted as "altered surface" seems adequately described, as there seems to be a layer of somewhat strong, chemical residue that stains the surface to a yellowish-grey color. Underlying texture may have survived with some decency intact, as there seems to be flowline luster still visible beneath the murky residue. At any rate, actual wear is minimal, showing trivial flattening of some of the upper and central curls, a bit of friction on the cap, and minor loss of sharpness at the eagle's breast.
