Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1884-S PCGS AU-58
Lot Number: 349
Description: Forest Park Collection II. Purchased non-certified as "BU" by the consignor some 25 years ago, the PCGS slab represents the one and only grading incident for this oh-so-close slider for 1884-S, a date famous as skyrocketing into the stratosphere at merely one grade up. Fully lustrous and utterly a clone for the MS-61 grade, it's no wonder the coin fit so well into what was intended to be a mint-state set of dollars in an album. Merely a touch of off-white patina layers the surface, and the luster and strike seem much better than usual for the grade.
