Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1878-CC MS-63 CAC, and an 1891-CC VAM-3 Spitting Eagle MS-63, both NGC
Lot Number: 294
Description: Visually appealing, bright, white and blazing with luster, a pair of Carson City dollars cannot fail to elicit strong interest within this offering. 1878 offers very mild cameo effects, not really prooflike but certainly with distinctive contrast between the heavily textured cheek and blazing fields. It is an almost absurdly well struck dollar. Not quite as flashy, 1891-CC nevertheless gleams with whiteness that sees not even the slightest hint of toning, and although the strike barely misses absolutely perfection, it is still a very sharp example. In either case, the grade seems to be determined by occasional delicate luster grazes in the fields, and a few more on the cheeks. Two coin lot.
