Description: Forest Park Collection II. B-8, BB-165 (R.3) "N/upside down N" is a relatively nondescript die-marriage in which the 1799 rests relatively low in the field, the top curl points a little right of "E" above. On the reverse, one finds a dash between the bases of "NI" that suggests an errant punch of the original "N" upside down. The consignor retains paperwork that shows he bought this coin from Olde Towne Coin Shoppe as VF-30, subsequently getting it into a PCGS VF-35 holder many years later, and it's no wonder PCGS felt secure in the slightly more generous grade, given the astoundingly original surface quality. A distinct triad of greyish hues incorporates classic dove-grey at the base, surmounted by pewter accents and charcoal embedded into the recesses. Vague, wispy ancient pinscratches are of but meaningless offense overall.
