Lot Title: Four certified Uncirculated 19th century U.S. type coins

Description: The Motorman Consignment. A quartet of certified type coins make this a lively and enjoyable grouping for the collector. And, couldn't we all use something to liven up our day? First is 1851 3-cent (PCGS MS-64) with a fair strike and strangely attractive platinum-grey patina, but the coin also shows deep striations on either side -- remnants of normal planchet preparation. Next is 1865 3-cent (PCGS MS-64), and this iron-grey example has typical die clashes flagrantly showing on either side. Third is 1883 shield nickel (NGC MS-64), and this coin offers beautiful, flashing silver-bright luster over a very decent strike. Last is an 1877 quarter (PCGS MS-63) with an amazing strike beneath blazing aluminum-white surface hue, but the luster probably lacks enough pizzazz for upgrade. Four coin lot.
