Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1966 Lincoln cent struck on a dime blank
Lot Number: 638
Description: Bradford Pear Collection. 2.2 grams is on par with the statutory weight of a "sandwich" dime, and examining the edge (made possible thanks to the excellent NGC EdgeView technology), one locates the telltale signs of the copper core between the cupro-nickel cladding. The planchet was struck off of cent dies, rims aligned with the collar at 3:00, opposed to the complete lack of rims seen at 9:00. All obverse lettering made it onto the flan save "L" in LIBERTY, and on the reverse, the tops of TED STATES are faintly sliced off.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
