Description: 1910-D/D, with the mintmark repunched left. 139 graded MS-66, 7 higher at PCGS. There is no date within the Saint-Gaudens series that is so common at the MS-66 level that it falls into the arena of the truly mundane, but 1910-D proves to be roughly forty times scarcer than the true hoard dates, such as 1924 and a1927, and it is a very rare entry above the "very Gem" level. Nearly staggering on its own merits, the surface bears very few noticeable contact marks, absolutely none large enough to bring the grade into question. The luster is sensational in every way, whirling and twirling about with aplomb, spangling wide bands of illumination around either side, with a strike that nears perfection.
