Description: As with other San Francisco issues of the mid-1870s, 1874-S almost always comes on the scene with deficient strike detail, exemplified here by softness within Liberty's curls, although the reverse is surprisingly sharp, in general. Predictably, given the PCGS MS-61 grade, both sides bear the brunt of numerous small abrasions and a few old pinscratches, yet strong luster continues to percolate below.
