Description: J. Mainstream Collection. Any question of authenticity has been relieved by the certification of this trio of gold dollars. First is 1857 (ANACS XF-45, appealing strike with decidedly original surface quality and evidence of two light clashes). Next is 1873 "open 3" (NGC MS-62, looks fully choice with only the faintest of hairlines and substantial luster), and this coin was struck from the obverse strike with a sizable die-scratch on the bust and with LIBERTY mostly effaced on the headband. These are as-struck characteristics of the 1873 gold dollar. Finally, 1874 (NGC AU-58, noticeable rub) seems to be an original example, still replete with most of the luster that was present upon striking. Three coin lot.
