Description: 193 in MS-64 and 85 higher at PCGS. From an original mintage of 687,567, this lot has beautiful aged-gold toning covering the surface except for the area immediately surrounding Liberty on the obverse resulting in great eye appeal. With no abrasions worth mentioning and a great strike, it is curious what could have kept this MS-64 example from Gem status. The current example is the Open Wreath variety that has seen only 85 coins graded higher at PCGS (ls).
