Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1849 Open Wreath NGC AU-58, and an 1854 Type 1 PCGS MS-62, both CACCAC
Lot Number: 124
Description: The fields retain slightly reflectivity for 1849, suggesting freshly prepared dies, and this pleasing texture has been only faintly affected by light rub from brief handling. This is a beautifully struck coin that lacks contact marks. That being said, 1854 shows an absolutely terrific strike, despite doubly clashed dies (possibly counter-clashed), and this coin features very nice, complete luster, free from rub. A common date, yet an interesting example that places a nice dollop of whipped cream atop this cherry two coin lot.
