Description: Shawl Consignment. 15 graded MS-63, 57 higher at PCGS. Strong luster belies the grade, as one might well guess a higher assessment upon first glance at the gorgeous cartwheel effect and bold detailing. As is often seen for San Francisco half-dollars of the era, each side displays parallel "draw lines" from planchet preparation, yet although the strike wasn't strong enough to completely efface them, the plethora of fine detailing would suggest a very good strike. Interesting.
