Description: Sheldon-291 has a small date and an extensive die crack connecting all the obverse stars, mated to a reverse that is easy to identify by a small die gouge beneath "NE". Rustic walnut-brown dominates visual effects in this case, although the details bear slightly paler brown hue giving a touch of contrast against the fields. Well known as a large-cent type struck on difficult stock, the surface offers only patches of insignificant roughness, although careful observers will find a pair of ancient scratches hidden above and below the central dot of the reverse.
