Lot Title: Fifty-one different large cents, plus two extra
Lot Number: 522
Description: Shop Talk Collection. Rapid Reaction: "just terrific". No repeats appear within this selection of early copper, which instantly adds appeal to the grouping. That being said, there are enough nicer pieces that deserve special mention, and the cataloger fully expects bidders to be falling all over themselves for the opportunity to latch on to these large cents. These can be listed with details grades as follows: 1797 (Fine/filed rim), 1798 (G), 1802 "normal fraction" (VG/burnished), 1803 (G/roughness), 1806 (G), 1807 (VG/modest roughness), 1808 (Fine/minor obverse pits), 1811 (G), 1812 (VG), 1814 (VG/G), 1816 (Fine/corroded), 1817 (VG/burnished), 1818 (Fine), 1819 "small date" (Fine), 1820 (VG), 1821 (VG+, nice), 1822 (VG), 1823/2 (VG/obverse scratched), 1824 (G/scratched), 1825 (Fine/roughness), 1826 (VF'/obverse scratch), 1827 (VF/recolored), 1828 (G), 1830 (Fine), 1831 (VF/cleaned), 1832 (Fine), 1833 (VF/recolored), 1834 (XF/old cleaning), 1835 (VF, nicely doubled profile), and 1836 (VF, slightly off-color). The remaining twenty-one pieces dated from 1837 through 1857 almost all seem to have very-fine or better details, with a handful off-color, cleaned, or otherwise showing curious presence. A couple of extra examples dated 1850 and 1851 round out this fifty-three coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
