Description: A key to the strict non-variety set, 1926-S has the well-known reputation for poor quality production off of overused dies, although that isn't readily apparent for this nicer example. A full, bold horn on the reverse will immediately entice potential bidders, and the obverse design has been boldly delineated as well. Handsome mushroom-grey patina overall shows very faint, subtle clues to improper alloy mixing, as can be seen by faint streaks, but the planchet overall definitely offers better quality than what is often seen for mid-1920s San Francisco nickels.
