Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1846-D PCGS VF-35
Lot Number: 788
Description: Mintage: 80,294. 12 graded VF-35, 94 higher at PCGS. Popular as an available branch-mint gold type coin, the 1846-D benefits from a reasonable survival rate. The present example displays the distinctive lemon-gold color usually seen for Dahlonega, with a minimal amount of patina evident on either side. It's quite possible that the technical grade reaches to extremely-fine, with some deduction made for the rather prevalent number of tiny contact marks seen throughout - a common characteristic of circulated Southern gold.
