Description: Judy Garret Collection. Mintage: 1300. As is the case for most of the latter issues, 1871 sports a very low mintage that ensures ongoing scarcity for collectors. Blatantly prooflike as is usually the case for such limited production, the MS-61 grade reflects unfair exaggeration of numerous but minuscule contact marks far and wide. That said, some very pretty grapefruit-gold patina has settled across a large portion of each side, creating an attractive "two toned" appearance that many collectors enjoy.
