Description: Far and away the most desirable of the Indian quarter eagles, astute collectors seek out specimens of 1911-D with a prominent mintmark on the reverse, since it infamously wore off the dies and cannot be detected on some examples. Acceptable for the MS-61 grade, this coin features an excellent strike overall and includes a nicely rendered all-important "D" on the reverse. Defying the odds, the obverse actually displays practically no mentionable abrasions, while a small oblong depressions rests above the eagle's head.
