Description: Berry Tree Collection. Although each side of the 1884-CC GSA dollar (MS-62 DMPL) has become well abraded from long storage within the GSA vaults, the mirrors offer outrageously deep reflectivity, suggesting an extremely early strike. It could qualify for an "ultra deep mirror prooflike" qualification if any grading services still uses such a designation, as ANACS did back in the good old days. This is an off-white example, while the accompanying 1884-CC (MS-63 DMPL) features colorless surfaces, as well as very deep mirrors, not quite as unfathomable as it's GSA partner, but formidable nevertheless. The cost of this lot is probably going to end up where the UDCAM example should be worth all by itself to the astute collector, yet we nevertheless offer the Scotsman Cataloger's Choice to recognize a special coin. It's that astonishing an example within this two coin lot.
