Description: Tim Moeller Collection. Distinction between AU and the UNC grades has paramount importance for 1883-S as it takes an arduous leap in value between those levels. Flashy and "unc at a glance", especially from the obverse, we suggest that AU-55 or slightly better could be a sensible grade assignment given the full complement of details and obvious luster (although the obverse is plainly fully prooflike).
