Description: Trade Bates Collection. Type II / II. Outrageous precision of detail is only enhanced by the definite matte texture noticeable on all the design elements. PCGS seems to have performed a disservice by not administering the "cameo" designation, given the blatantly obvious contrast on both sides. A number of feathery hairlines cannot be ignored, yet their effect is somewhat mitigated on the obverse by the warm molten-gold tones evident throughout the fields. Turquoise color on the rims contributes to the pleasing obverse presentation, although the reverse remains essentially white.
