Lot Title: Run of fifteen different large cents, 1843 through 1857
Lot Number: 167
Description: The F. Raphael Collection. Consecutive dates form up a great selection of later large-cents, comprising almost a quarter of the entire range for early copper. These are substantially more appealing than average, as the consignor obviously took care to locate pieces with no problems for 1843 through 1857. Although 1844 is a little darker than its caramel-brown companions, sharpness in every case ought to fall easily into the very-fine to extremely-fine range, portioned about equally between the two levels. Notably, the 1855 is a "knob on ear" die-marriage, showing about a middle die-state knob. Great opportunity in this fifteen coin lot!

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade.
