Lot Title: 1804 S-266A VF details, as described
Lot Number: 156
Description: The F. Raphael Collection. Although this Sheldon -266a has some noteworthy problems, the "at a glance" appearance is surprisingly decent for a cent almost always found with horrible aesthetics. Smoothing of the planchet helps alleviate the presence of tiny pits spread throughout, but widespread roughness seems more prevalent on the reverse, rather than the obverse. The obverse right rim bears a small bruise, and the left side seems to have been bent and straightened at one time, but all these problems add up to a bit less than the expected level of distraction.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
