Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1885-O NGC MS-67 Star
Lot Number: 647
Description: Vida D. Bertie's Consignment. Incredible eye-appeal only begins to tell the story of the NGC "star" designation for this extraordinary silver dollar. Vibrant, curving bands of rainbow color propagate across the lower obverse with vivid presence, and a lengthy, thin crescent of similar hue races across the extreme upper portion of this same side. The reverse shows only modest evidence delicate rim toning. As expected of the very high technical grade level, the quality at least approaches perfection, although a tiny crumble of carbon adheres to Liberty's cheek. Finally, and unexpectedly for a New Orleans dollar, both sides show utterly thorough, profoundly defined details throughout, including perfect delineation of the four strands of hair over Liberty's ear. A drop-dead magnificent specimen that well deserves the Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award
