Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1880 PCGS MS-66 CACCAC
Lot Number: 578
Description: The entire coin has become extravagantly draped in shimmering rose-grey patina, accented near portions of the rims with profoundly beautiful indigo-green iridescence. Chances seem very good that this silver dollar was stored in a Kraft envelope for many decades, as the coloration pattern has that familiar "look" about it. PCGS has provided an MS-66 grade assessment that takes into account an essentially clean cheek, albeit a tiny shallow abrasion may be located under high magnification. Vibrant luster gives much the presence of a San Francisco strike, and delineation reaches near perfection given the fully outlined breast feathers on the reverse. While hardly a scarce coin, the Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award isn't an appraisal of rarity, but rather simple collector desirability, which is exactly what one finds here.
