Lot Title: 1929 $20 Type 2 - Alexander City, AL Charter #7417 - PMG AU-58 EPQ
Lot Number: 52
Description: The First NB of Alexander City, AL. Alexander City was originally named "Youngsville" for its founder, James Young, when it was incorporated in 1872. It was shortly renamed "Alexander City" in honor of Edward Porter Alexander, who was in charge of the Confederate artillery bombardment that preceded Pickett's Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg. This gorgeous type-2 national represents the only back to issue notes in the county. Very slight wear at the lower left corner appears to show the only sign of wear.
