Description: Mintage: 5,000. The August C. Frank Company restruck these imitation Confederate half-dollars at the behest of Robert Bashlow, and they were produced in three different metals. The half-dollar restrikes are much rarer than the often-seen cents. The Confederate die for the reverse was mated to a specially engraved obverse die, and this particular example was struck in so-called "goldine" metal.
