Description: Although two 1861-0 half-dollars present for this lot, there is but a single presentation box (and all accompanying documentation). One coin has NGC's designation of "shipwreck effect (c) UNC" noted, along with "Louisiana issue", which calls attention to issuance during Confederate control of the New Orleans mint. The other notates simply as "shipwreck effect" and "Confederate States issue".
