Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1853 and 1853-O, both Arrows and Rays PCGS AU-53
Lot Number: 621
Description: Both feature remarkably bright, flashy surfaces with more reflective luster than usual, rather than typical frosty fields. The Philadelphia coin might have contended for a slightly choicer grade, but we note a tiny scribble just right of Liberty's upraised arm and a brief streak within her shield. The New Orleans example actually features a crisper strike than it's companion, and also displays interesting doubling around most of the obverse stars, as well as some noticeable die rust "pimples" gathered around the shield. Two coin lot.
