Description: O-113a features STATES blundered as STETES and subsequently corrected with an overstamped A/E, and a distinctive large die lump rests right of the date. This is an undeniably attractive and original example featuring dusky tin-grey patina on the design elements that contrasts modestly with ashy fields. Circulation was very kind to the surface, leaving behind only smooth texture, although an as-struck planchet defect at about 3:00 on the reverse is cleverly hidden by an NGC slab prong.
