Lot Title: 1866 J-468 PCGS PR-63RD
Lot Number: 378
Description: Gavin "John" Rose Collection. Judd-468, Pollock-561 is an extremely rare 5-cent pattern when struck in copper, which is presumed to be the case given the blazing red color that emanates from this proof specimen. Those struck in bronze are slightly more common. Although the extreme rarity makes it a coin that is hardly capable of being collected, the patriotic rendition of Washington is expertly rendered and popular with numismatists.
