Lot Title: 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter NGC MS-62
Lot Number: 761
Description: One of the ultimate popular key coins of the 20th century, the 1916 quarter surprises for how many actually achieve full-head status at the grading services -- unexpectedly, hundreds are so-designated today. Contrarily, here is a lustrous, almond-gold example that did not receive a full impression from either die, yet both sides still offer ample details. About a dozen indistinct carbon flecks can be located on the obverse while the reverse shows none. Storage friction may play a role in the lack of a full gem grade but it's hard to imagine a collector who would be disappointed to add such a famous coin to his or her collection.
