Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1819 Small 9 Over 8 NGC MS-61
Lot Number: 695
Description: Overton-109. For many collectors seeking an 1819/8 overdate, O-101 is the premier choice because of how bold the overdate feature looks. The mint clearly made limited effort to efface the original "8", resulting in a highly distorted and very desirable anomaly. Cabinet friction creates some modestly darker areas over the highpoints but subtle luster beneath attractive, lavender-grey patina spells out a relatively high grade example. Wonderfully free from abrasions, this is an easy early half-dollar to appreciate.
