Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1875-S Trade PCGS MS-66
Lot Number: 537
Description: Type I / I, large mintmark. Luscious velvety texture immediately greets the eye, endowed with toast-orange and sherbet hues that descend inward from the rims. The obverse did not receive a full impression from the dies, reinforced by a surprising number of rollermarks over the portrait, yet the eagle shows mostly precisely sculpted individual feathers. At the same time that 1875-S is the most frequently counterstamped date in the series, it also offers the highest number of uncirculated pieces, this a premier example with intense luster and amazingly few contact marks.
