Description: FS-301. 35 graded NGC MS-64, 17 higher at NGC. The 1909/8 is the only Saint-Gaudens overdate and is frequently seen in a more affordable and lesser condition than is available here. The situation changes at the choice uncirculated level, where coins finer than MS-61, 62, and 63 become decidedly tougher. Rich honeycomb glow and a smidgen of dark rubbing on Liberty breast and Eagle, a testament to originality and a characteristic that is preferred by gold-type collectors and the cataloger alike. (CE)
