Description: Three gold dollars in three different slab styles. The 1853 Liberty gold $1 is far and away the most common United States gold dollar, and most are in the lower Mint State range (this one is MS-62). The 1854 Type II (Indian Princess) gold dollar is the third-most common gold dollar of the US, but it’s appealing design and status as transition type makes it a popular target. The final gold dollar in this group dates to the Civil War, and is the most common Type III example. It’s orange surfaces stand out in this trio, while the 1850s coins exhibit yellow gold flash. (JS)
