Description: As the smallest denomination, the silver half reales of Spanish Colonial lands would have theoretically seen the most use. Not this example though. The 1802 issue struck at the Mexico City Mint is a showstopper, its mid-Mint State grade offering barely a hint of the beauty evident on both sides. The slightest of pastels dwell within the legends around the designs, with yellowish-gray dominating the central design areas. Must be seen in hand to fully appreciate! (JS)
