Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1936-D 3 1/2 Legs, FS-901, PCGS AU-55 CACCAC
Lot Number: 990
Description: FS-901, though the older PCGS slab lists FS-019 which was used under the Fivaz-Stanton numbering system but which has fallen out of favor. The front hoof is disconnected from the foreleg due to over-polishing of the reverse die, creating a situation much like the far more famous three-legged buffalo of the following year. Considerable luster remains visible for only AU-55, the recessed areas also accumulating some interesting lavender-blue accents. As fits the bill for a choice example, surface friction is responsible for the honest grade, there being no visible scuffs or demerits.
