Description: 106 graded MS-64, 25 higher at NGC. Probably underrated by comparison to the 1926-S, any experienced buffalo nickel collector will name 1924-S as one of the toughest keys to the series. Even this very choice example experienced the shallow strike common to the date, although the planchet was of higher quality than average, showing none of the laminations often seen. Further, delightful pastel hues decorate the obverse field with lime-green and rose-magenta though the reverse generally shows neutral nickel-grey hue. Beautifully free from abrasions and a true find for the collector.
