Lot Title: 1923-S PCGS MS-65+
Lot Number: 878
Description: CC Connelly Collection. When found with full head details, the 1923-S can be a standout as San Francisco proved capable of minting blazing, lustrous coins in the earlier 1920s. Splashes of orange land on either quicksilver side, most likely the result of proud album storage early in the coin's life. The cataloger has never seen a perfectly detailed 1923-S but the sharpness here approaches about the maximum available for the date, the shield carrying the always-present softness at southwest, while the eagle's breast feathers are a little blurry as well. Wonderfully free from mentionable contact.
