Description: Despite not earning a star, or a stripe, or a lucky charm, this memorable 1937 half-dollar features blatantly obvious cameo effects, if only partially so. True, the lowest relief areas of the skirt at the eagle's wings are too brilliant to allow full designation, yet the dynamic eye-appeal cannot be denied. On top of that, fields will garner ample acclaim for the lack of hairlines or other distractions. The "AW" monogram is weaker than it should be due to refinishing of the dies, yet this Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award will be the highlight for many collectors unable to find a full cameo proof type or date example.
