Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1827/6 PCGS AU-58+ (mislabled)
Lot Number: 728
Description: The Opa Collection. Overton-101 with the 1827/6 overdate, blatantly missed by PCGS and not recorded on the slab insert (yet they managed to call out "square base 2", so they must have actually glanced at the date?). Many collectors prefer the earliest die-marriage because the overdate is so prominently featured and unmistakable, aside from this specific example also showing decent sharpness throughout. Pleasing near-Crayola hues fill the surface with violet-rose, Pacific blue and chartreuse-grey in a somewhat random pattern that sparkles and shines along with bright luster. That being said, luster falls incomplete within the fields despite PCGS's virtual mint-state grade assessment.
