Description: 107 graded MS-64+, 53 higher at NGC. 1928-S has been well known as a grade-rarity long before the age of certification and this example almost certainly would have been portrayed as a gem in the old days. The pearl-grey surface exhibits the gorgeous luster that the date is known for, gently layered in platinum-grey patina. The gem grade was likely denied by a sparkling nick on Liberty's brow as well as a couple of linear abrasions on the eagle.
