Description: CC Connelly Collection. VAM-5A, though not rare, is a popular variety because of the nearly shattered reverse die, joined by a failing obverse die. Die cracks appear in the date area, snaking upward past the left edge of the portrait, and on the reverse, an intricate network of cracks begins and traverses left from the mintmark. A shining, blast-white example with a fabulous strike.
