Description: The Wile Steven Collection. 9,450 mintage. Despite of a number of small hoards that brought to surface a measurable quantity of 1885-CC double eagles, the issue remains a scarce item. This is the case especially for coins graded extremely fine and higher, with staggering price jumps into choice AU and MS. This present individual has a pleasant eye appeal, good strike details for the grade, and just a few less marks than one might expect. Considerable brightness shines though circulation, with virtually no problems to report. (CE)
