Description: Mintage: 13,280. 23 graded AU-53, 110 higher at NGC. Curious die anomalies which make Charlotte gold so charming include an overly heavy "7" in the date, rim confusion at the upper and lower reverse rims, and additional rim corruption on the obverse die. None of these factors affect grade, of course, this coin still partially lustrous and beaming with bright lemon-gold surfaces that show fewer than the typical number of marks for southern gold.
