Lot Title: Brazil - 1864 200 reis - ANACS MS-64
Lot Number: 191
Description: Pacific Coast Consignment. KM#469, common, and astoundingly perhaps, a Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award winner based on the amount of eye-appeal that has been compressed onto such a humble and relatively small-format coin. It is unclear whether the holder induced colors, but a fascinating boomerang-shaped russet-silver area on the obverse is surrounded by an immediate border of crimson that itself then gives way to utterly brilliant, intense cyan-turquoise saturation. The reverse sees a comparable toning pattern around a lozenge-shaped interior. Does the grade even matter when eye-appeal flies this far off the charts?
