Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1796 Liberty Cap, S-84 VF
Lot Number: 1004
Description: J.H. Consingnment. Sheldon-84, die-state III where the obverse die bulges at "6", yet no die crack yet extends from "7" in the date. Although almost certainly burnished with very high skill at some point, the color and appearance are remarkably natural in appearance, leading to a commercial Cataloger's grade: [VF-20]. Virtually no marks exist at all, though not as a byproduct of being burnished -- this is simply an outstanding example that somehow managed to escape nearly all signs of coin-to-coin contact.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, CACG, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
