Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1907 NGC MS-64
Lot Number: 714
Description: Numerous common dates within the Barber half-dollar series are perfectly adequate for type representation, including 1907. But at only MS-64 -- hands-down the right grade -- this Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award winner provides more than just near-gem qualities. For some reason, the frosted luster is phenomenally bright and luscious, gleaming and sparling with vanilla-grey and silvery overtones that wow the eye. Admittedly, the strike at the eagle's right wing could not quite meet perfection, and the grade takes into account sliding bag friction on the cheek, but one will be hard pressed to find a nicer piece for MS-64. Add to that an intriguing, threadlike die crack at the bottom of the bust and this exquisite piece demands a second and third review.
